The date for the Wimbledon draw has been set as Wednesday 22nd May with wine and strawberries available from 19:00 and the draw starting promptly at 19:30. Tennis members can enter their name and BTM number into the draw at Spa Reception and anyone who attends on the night will get a second entry. Please remember that each member can only win one pair of tickets so needs to be present at the time of the draw to decide which tickets they would like to take. We are also pleased to offer four front row seats for the Queen’s tournament this year.
Congratulations to the winners of the box leagues. In the ladies doubles Linda Tan and Sarah Breeden triumphed in Box 1 whilst Marion Francis and Sue Walker were the winners in Box 2 and Sara O' Kelly and Lorette Du Toit in Box 3. The mixed Doubles was won by Linda Tan and Dan Gray. Prizes will be presented at the Annual Dinner.
Please note that the Annual Tennis Dinner that was scheduled for the 2nd May has been postponed. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this has caused. It has been agreed to make the Annual dinner an end of season event and we are delighted to confirm the date of Friday 4th October.
Phil Fowler is on holiday from 28th April until 16th May. Whilst he is sunning himself, Rob Stone will make himself available for extra lessons for those that are finding the break from Phil just too painful. Please enquire at reception if you wish to book a lesson.
Winter Veterans Teams
Congratulations to our Mixed Vets team who won their league in the Bucks LTA Vets Division 4. Players were Julie Cullingworth (cpt), Anne Harvey, Hilary Jones, Stefani Grosse, Carol Lucas, Linda Tan, Toni Tucker, Pierre Bechade, Shelly Ergin, Simon Johnson, Nick Wong, Tony Maycock, Shiel Kumar, Hertford King and Paul Smith. Well done to all and good luck next year! We are hopeful that both the ladies and men's teams will also get promotion after finishing second in Divisions 3 and 5 respectively.
Outdoor area complete
With the temperature on the rise and with the evenings drawing out later, the outdoor courts are starting to fill up! There is a new access to the courts- opposite the San Marco entrance, and the decking area with tables and chairs, and a summer house with a water fountain is now complete and ready for use.
Please note that with immediate effect, we will no longer be loaning out tennis balls. Balls will be provided for all club sessions but for individual practice and games, members will need to provide their own balls. Many thanks for your co-operation.
