Classic films and afternoon tea – what could be more quintessentially British? Marrying the two, Chris Wheeler, Head Chef of Humphry's fine dining restaurant at Stoke Park, is delighted to launch Afternoon Tea at the Movies. Inspired by Stoke Park’s film history, this one of a kind experience gives us a taste of our favourite movies for just £30 per person, available in The Orangery.
Stoke Park has played its part in many of our much loved films, from James Bond classics to the hilarious Bridget Jones’s Diary. For Guy Richie’s Layer Cake, Chris Wheeler, was commissioned to create ‘the layer cake’ for the film, shot in the Wyatt function room. Afternoon tea at Stoke Park makes a tantalising matching between Stoke Park’s film history and its delightful selection of home-made cakes and pastries such as 007 – James Bond’s Tuxedo Éclair, Bridget Jones’s Diary – Fruit Rowing Boat Tartlet, Layer Cake – Chocolate, Coffee and Orange Layered Opera, RocknRolla – Raspberry and Chambord Jelly, Bride and Prejudice – Lemon Blossom Cupcake, Wimbledon – Pistachio and Strawberry Macaroon, and The Ultimate Hot chocolate.
With Stoke Park’s beautiful landscape, hotel and spa as well as Humphry’s elegant décor and warm atmosphere, Tea at the Movies can be part of a well needed pamper day, a romantic getaway or just as a remedy for a sweet tooth in one of the most beautiful country estates.
