Summer Teams

Teams have been entered into the Bucks Shield ladies two and three pair, men’s first and third division and medley leagues. If you would like to play for any of these teams, please contact the captains Carol Veronique, Shiel Kumar, Lea Greenway and Julie Cullingworth respectively through spa reception on 01753 717173 or email spa@stokepark.com We also now have three teams entered into the Summer Midweek Leagues and the season is due to start imminently.

Outdoor Tennis Area

We are currently enhancing the environment for the all-weather tennis courts area. We will be moving the tennis hut nearer to the Pavilion thereby creating a no-car zone for members to relax prior to and after play. In addition, we will be planting more hedges and trees around the courts. Access to these courts will be via the pavilion building only so please remember to carry your membership card at all times.

Tennis Committee Information

The Tennis Committee meets with the Club’s proprietor and management three times a year. The role of the Tennis Committee is to act as a direct communication between members and the Club and to be a sounding board for all tennis related activities. Agenda points include: tennis social events, tennis teams, club competitions and disciplinary matters.

The Tennis Committee is made up of adult Health & Racquet Members (up to a maximum of six – three ladies and three men), Dan Gray and Chester King. The Tennis Committee includes the current Ladies and Men’s Club Captain and H&R members who represent the various player types, i.e. team players and social players. If a member of the Tennis Committee resigns then the H&R membership will be asked to apply. The Tennis Committee will consider all applications and will select a replacement member.

In recognition of all his hard work on the Tennis Committee, organising teams and the annual festive tennis event, we are delighted to confirm that Lea Greenway will be the new Club Captain from 1^st January 2012.

Ladies Club Captain

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Carol Veronique as the new Ladies Club Captain. Carol has been actively involved in tennis at Stoke Park for quite a while now and is already responsible for organising the Veterans Shield mixed team amongst other things. She is also the current Ladies First Team Captain.

Court Courtesy

Out of respect for all users, we would ask all members not to enter the playing area before the time that their court booking begins. Anyone arriving for courts, lessons and roll ups are kindly asked to wait behind the curtain or outside the court area to avoid distracting matches that are currently in progress.
