Welcome to August’s edition of the Members Newsletter.
We hope you are having a great summer so far and enjoying this glorious weather!
We have had an exciting few weeks at the Club and are delighted that last week, on the 24th July, we officially opened the David Leadbetter Golf Academy. We were honoured to welcome David Leadbetter himself who during the week gave clinics to our members, the media and also spent time with our scholars. We also hosted the Leadbetter Golf Academy Summit where a host of Leadbetter qualified coaches, including our own, from around Europe spent the day learning from leaders in the field of golf coaching. We are delighted that the new USGA spec short game area was also officially opened.
David commented: “We’re really excited to open our new academy at Stoke Park. Stoke Park is one of the world’s premier golf facilities, with an amazing hotel, three nine-hole golf courses and a great practice facility. I want to thank Chester King for his vision and everybody involved for making this happen, as this is going to be our European headquarters. We’ve had academies in the UK for some time, but to have a facility such as Stoke Park really is a dream come true. It’s going to be a tremendous facility and we can’t wait to get started, to help the members out and really promote the game of golf in general. I know how much involvement Stoke Park has in developing young players and we look forward to being part of that as well.”
Many Congratulations to Conor Gough who, following his victory at the Fairhaven Trophy earlier in the season, won the McGregor Trophy at the English Boys’ Under-16 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Kedleston Park in Derbyshire. Conor’s latest success puts him in illustrious company with the likes of world number three Justin Rose and Edoardo Molinari - brother of new Open champion Francesco - among the names to have won the 72-hole event, one of golf’s most sought-after under-16 titles.
Many Congratulations to Taylor Paul who finished in a tie for a hugely credible 14th place in the McGregor Trophy and to Daisy Kennedy, who carded two rounds of 71 on her way to finishing joint 16th at this month’s English Women’s Amateur Championship at Wilmslow Golf Club in Cheshire.
All the upgraded gym equipment has now arrived and we hope our Health Members are enjoying.
Our Head of Fitness and Tennis, Jules Baker, will sadly be leaving us after 13 years at the Club. We have some important updates in both Health and Tennis sections regarding new appointments so please do visit these sections.

Stoke Park will be at the Windsor Food Festival, which is taking place on the 25th and 26th August in Alexandra Gardens. Our Executive Chef, Chris Wheeler, will be doing cookery demos throughout the day so please do pop down and see us. Also his debut cookbook is out now and available to buy online here or around the Club. If you would like a personalised copy please let Chris know on email@example.com.
We hope you have a fantastic Summer!
