Huge congratulations to golf member Conor Gough, who won the British Boys Championship at Royal Portrush. This is a fantastic achievement and we are all extremely proud!
Stoke Park has continued to receive wonderful press reviews including Head Chef, Chris Wheeler, gracing the glossy pages of Hello! and OK! We were recently GQ’s Golf Club of the Month. Their editor, Paul Henderson commented: ‘After three years of wintery renovation, the iconic Stoke Park golf course has gone from being one of England’s best parkland courses to, well... simply the best.’ read more
We have recently been inspected by The AA and are delighted that we have retained our '5 AA Red Star' status (one of only 50 hotels in the UK and Ireland). 5 Red Stars are awarded for outstanding facilities, service and all-round customer experience and are the highest award given.
On the 11th September, we are delighted to welcome our New Head Tennis Pro, Marc Codling. Marc has over 25 years’ experience within the tennis industry and is highly specialised in running club programmes and coaching teams. He is a LTA Level 5 qualified coach, which is the highest level of qualification in the UK. Marc will bring a strong mix of technical and tactical knowledge along with unbridled amounts of enthusiasm to the court where he is comfortable coaching all ages and standards; from beginners to national level players. Marc has coached at some of the most prestigious clubs in the country and comes to Stoke Park from working within the David Lloyd network. He is also a Coach Education tutor involved in training up the next generation of tennis coaches and he holds a degree from Leeds University in PE and Business. Marc is relishing the opportunity of running the tennis department at Stoke Park and is very much looking forward to meeting the members on and off court upon his arrival.
And finally on the 28th September we will be hosting a fundraising day for SportsAid, as part of SportsAid week. Please do look out for updates on this which will be hitting your inboxes soon - we will be bringing back the successful Tennisathon which we did last year, and also a fitness inspired challenge! There will also be a chance to purchase Raffle tickets with fantastic prizes - we will be keep you posted!
